Exhibition: Impressions of the City

  jh     12/04/2018     Comments (0)

In this exhibition 'Impressions of the City' we present graphic work by Wuudy and ikRotterdam. Wuudy's graphical work focusses on architecture, drawn in clear colors and shapes. Mostly, her work is in black and white but sometimes Wuudy uses bright colors. Artist group ikRotterdam explores the city by drawing it and showing it in all its coincidence or its greatness. In their own words: "From pub reviews through food trucks to sites of unknown international allure." This exhibition is part of a collaboration between NIFFO Gallery and IMAGE OF THE CITY. On a regular base, an exhibition will be organised, combining work by artists represented by IMAGE OF THE CITY and other work.   Opening: Sunday April 22nd at 15.00 hrs. The exhibition lasts until May  3rd....

New work: Sebastian van Damme

We are very happy to have started a collaboration with met Sebastian van Damme, a Rotterdam architect and photographer! About Sebastian van Damme Sebastian van Damme is a photographer, inspired from within the architecture world. Through his understanding of process, architecture and urbanism he excells in envisioning the beauty of the built/unbuilt environment. This has to be understood in a broad sense as his  work  manifests. "As we relocate ourselves from one place to another, architecture and its spatial inversion can be seen as the preconditions of our daily life, intensified by the weather. Sometimes this is highlighted by remarkable designs and sometimes the non-descript environment has it's own sudden beauty. Together they are my inspiration."

Exhibition: Transparency

‘Transparency’ is a photo exhibition that researches the symbiosis between the diversity of worlds around us and the role that architecture plays in it. Every individual experiences this kind of interaction in different ways. One can recognise himself – and act – as visitor, voyeur, partner, passer-by or outsider. Is it the spatial condition that triggers these new roles? What role does architecture play? What influence does it have on the interaction between people? Between perceptions? And which role does the photographer have in relation to the architecture and the people?   The exhibition shows work of 6 photographers; Baijg, Raban Haaijk, Tamara Stoevelaar, Ossip van Duivenbode, Sebastian van Damme and Zoë D. Cochia.     ‘Transparency’ is the first result of a...

ikRotterdam draw the city of Rotterdam. Sometimes important buildings, sometimes small things that happen. I came past this old port crane and recognised their work 'Hijskraanhuisje' (crane-with-cabin) from 2014. Funny, a had passed this place hundreds of times, but only recognised it this time. https://www.imageofthecity.com/Hijskraanhuisje-(2014),-ikRotterdam-(Art-Print)
